What would you do? What would you do if you were at a restaurant, at work, or someplace in public and found hair in your food? Would you decide to eat it and assume it is yours? Would you be grossed out and throw it away? Would you take the hair out and decide to still eat it? If at a restaurant, would you send it back and say something? This is a scenario we have all been in before, but when it comes to seeing that hair, what would you do?

We have all been in that moment where we are out to eat, perhaps we have been looking forward to the meal, and it finally arrives, and you are excited to take a big bite to notice there is a hair in your food. Is it yours and fell out already? Is it the chef's, the waiter's or the waitresses', or is it somebody's at the table? Not sure of where it came from, should you enjoy the bite you have been anticipating? You could remove it and enjoy the bite and try to forget about it. The worst is when you do this, and then can't get it out of your mind and are wondering if there is more you are missing or if it comes from a dirty head. Sending it back is an option, but then you wonder if you make the staff mad, would they put something worse in your food than the hair that was likely mistakenly in there?

Finding Hair in Your Food

This scenario isn't exclusive to only restaurants. Many people take their food to work and sometimes you eat it in the lunchroom or at your desk and notice hair sitting in your salad, cereal, or on your sandwich. The likely conclusion is this is yours and it has been there since you prepared your meal, but that is no guarantee. It is less concerning when this happens at work, instead of in a restaurant, because it narrows down the owner of the hair, but it makes it no less disturbing that it touched your food. It can ruin an appetite real quick and have you tossing your lunch away.

Depending on where you are and who prepared the food may dictate what you do. Typically I remove the hair and still eat the food, as I hate bothering a waiter or waitress, and if I made the meal, I assume it is mine, as long as it is the same color as mine. It bothers me, but if I am hungry enough, it won't ruin my meal. The next time you see a hair in your food, what would you do?
