Ranking the Food items at Costco in Idaho From Worst to Best
Costco is one of the most popular stores in the Gem State and nationwide. They offer a wide range of items, including clothing, appliances, food, decorations, and much more. Many flock to the store weekly for the free samples, to do their shopping, and to see if there are any good deals. One of the best parts about shopping at Costco is the food court. You can grab an affordable snack or a meal before or after your shopping, and they offer options for everyone. When it comes to eating at the food court in Costco, what is the worst item, what is the best, and how are they ranked?
Ranking Costco Food Court
Below will be the top ten items to eat at Costco. Items not on the list will be because I haven't tried them, or they are not worthy of being on the list. This list is my opinion and is based on my experience of eating at Costco throughout the years. Feel free to agree, disagree, and give your own list as well. Here are the top ten items to enjoy at Costco.
#10 Mocha Freeze
The Mocha Freeze might be one of the few disappointing items on the menu. The first time I had one, I expected something similar to the Jamocha Shake at Arby's. A strong coffee taste with a smoothie-like substance, but it wasn't as strong as I was hoping, and it didn't satisfy my expectations. Not terrible, but not near the top of my list or something I get often.
#9 Hot Turkey and Provolone Sandwich
The hot turkey and provolone sandwich returned to the Costco menu last year, and while it was exciting to see more options, it isn't one of the top menu items. When it comes to getting a warm sandwich, there are better places to go. While it may seem healthier than some of the other items on this list, it isn't as healthy as you would think. If you don't like hot dogs or pizza, it is a nice alternative, but if you're craving a sandwich, you're likely to go elsewhere.
#8 Chicken Caesar Salad
The chicken Caesar salad offers a healthier option on the Costco menu and is a decent salad for what it is. There is plenty of food, and you are likely to feel full after eating this salad, while not taking in a lot of grease like other items that Costco offers. Typically, when I want a salad, I am more likely to make one at home, but if the family wants Costco food, it is a good, healthy option if on a diet.
#7 Calzone
The calzone is newish to the Costco menu and is a great addition. It offers a lot of food packed into one item, with the biggest negative being that if you aren't a fan of anything inside, you need to take it out and pick it out, or pass altogether on the calzone. If you enjoy pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, olives, and everything else inside the calzone, then it is recommended to try.
#6 Chocolate Chip Cookie
Costco's chocolate chip cookies do not disappoint. They are always warm, gooey, and satisfy that sweet tooth and craving. The only reason the cookie does not rank higher on this list is that other places offer cookies as well that are bigger and a tad better, but if you are in Costco and want something sweet, it is worth getting, especially if you prefer your cookies warm.
#5 Chicken Bake
The chicken bake is a great option to eat on the go and is one of the better items on the menu. It only costs $3.99 and is the perfect quick meal. It won't make you feel overly full, but it will make you comfortable and no longer hungry. With the crust on the outside, the Caesar dressing dripping out with chicken after every bite, and around a foot long worth of food, it is worth eating if you have never tried it.
#4 Hotdog and Drink
This is where people might get upset, but the infamous hot dog and drink comes in as fourth on this list. Yes, the hot dog at Costco is great. It is long, the bun is always perfect, and for $1.50, it is tough to beat the price. If getting a drink, this is the way to go, as a hot dog comes with it. The Costco hot dogs are delicious, and typically a go-to for most, but there are a couple of items that rank a little higher.
#3 Ice Cream
The soft serve ice cream at Costco is absolutely delicious. If you enjoy soft serve, this is a must. It offers a larger portion than you will find in most places, and coming in a cup means you can walk around and eat while shopping, take it with you if leaving the store, or sit and enjoy it after shopping. It is a great treat any time of year.
#2 Ice Cream Sundae
While the ice cream is good, the sundae is even better. Take the amazing soft serve ice cream in a big cup and add hot fudge to it, and you have an affordable and great-tasting treat to enjoy. It makes it sweeter, a little messier, but tasting even better. If you like ice cream, this is a must-get at Costco. I recommend the new caramel brownie sundae if you haven't had it yet.
#1 Pizza
Could it be anything else? The pizza at Costco is the best item they offer in the food court. It doesn't matter if it is pepperoni or cheese; the pizza has a soft crust, big slices, and is well-priced. For $1.99, you can enjoy a big warm slice, or for $9.95 can have a whole pizza to take home to your family and eat leftovers for a day or two, depending on your family. Factoring in cost, portion size, and taste, the pizza is the best way to go at Costco.

Many will have their own opinion on the food court items at Costco. Do you agree or disagree with the list? Have you tried all the items listed above? What is your favorite item, and what does your list look like? Head to your nearest Costco, try the items, and message me and let me know. If you don't like my list, do you agree with this one?
