What would you do? What would you do if you looked out the window and saw that your neighbor was blowing their leaves into your yard, making them your problem? Would you go out and confront them? Would you blow them back into their yard? Would you leave them and wait for the wind to move them naturally? Would you accept your fate, rake them up, and be a better neighbor? This is a high possibility to happen this fall. Hopefully, your neighbors are not this way, but if they are and decide to blow their leaves into your yard, what would you do?

It may seem illegal to blow your leaves into your neighbor's yard or have them blow theirs into yours, but as long as you don't step foot onto their property, you are not breaking the law. One can argue if it is ethical to blow your leaves into a neighbor's yard, but if you have a bad neighbor and don't like them, it is legal to do so. In return, they may blow them back, and cause an argument between neighbors. This is a fast and easy way to get rid of leaves but does come at a cost. Assuming you are not someone who would blow your leaves into someone's yard, how would you react if you noticed someone blowing them into yours? Anger would consume you, but how you use that anger, is the question.

Once you have taken a breath and calmed down, how do you handle witnessing an act like leaves being transferred from one yard to another? You could run out and confront your neighbor, although that doesn't transfer the leaves back and nobody would win in that situation. You can kill them with kindness and rake the leaves, but this lets your neighbor know they can get away with these types of actions. You can blow them back into your neighbor's yard, plus yours, adding to their pile. You could talk with them and ask them to help you rake and together get the job done easily. You could also leave the leaves in your yard, as it is not a requirement in Idaho to remove them.

While retaliation and arguing seem like solid options, both will lead to an uncomfortable living arrangement. If you are someone who has bunnies or goats, use the extra leaves as food and consider it a gift, at least the first time. If it happens a second time, then retaliation might be required. Hopefully, you do not have neighbors like this and it is a non-issue, but if your neighbor blows their leaves into your yard this fall, what would you do?

Things We Do In Idaho That Feel Illegal But Aren't
