For those who don't have kids, living life kid-free can be enjoyable. Sleeping in, staying up late, coming and going as they please, and navigating stores in peace. For parents, it is exhausting, tiring, and dictates much of your time. Free time is a myth for parents, and quiet time is rare and doesn't last long. Some parents will take trips from time to time to get away from their children and focus on their marriage, and others aren't afforded that luxury and rarely get time to themselves. The only way for some parents to enjoy time alone is to get sick or be hospitalized, and it can be argued whether it is worth it or not to get some rest. If you are a parent and given a day to yourself, do you sleep in and take advantage of waking up on your own time, or do you get up early and appreciate as much time as you can without your children? Do you go somewhere for the day? Do you get some much-needed chores done? Do you binge-watch shows, movies, or read a book? Do you and your partner enjoy a day being intimate without interruptions, or go on a nice date? There are so many possibilities, and it can't all be done in one day, making it a tough choice. Going to the movies would be a nice option, or doing the things you never have time to do cause your kids won't let you.
