"Death by Chocolate" is one of the biggest and sweetest events of the year around the Magic Valley. The fundraiser helps Twin Falls Rotary with events and giving back to the community. For the second year in a row, the event has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Premise Behind "Death By Chocolate"
Twin Falls Rotary would get several different group of bakers and sweet lovers together to compete for the title of best sweets. The CSI culinary group was always part of it, the chefs at Cactus Petes would come up and participate, countless local restaurants and bakers would take part as well. The community would come together, try all the delicious treats, and vote for their favorite.
The Types Of Sweets At "Death By Chocolate"
They had several different categories that hundreds of people would go around and try. There were brownies, cookies, candies, and even a miscellaneous category so the bakers could get really creative. One year there was ice cream, and it was glorious. It really was so much sweetness though, it was hard to try them all.
For The Second Year, It Has Been Canceled
Twin Falls Rotary made the announcement that due to COVID-19 concerns, getting that many people in tight quarters, and new variants, the event will be canceled. It is going to be hard because it was Rotary's biggest fundraiser every year. You can still donate money to help keep the giving alive.
Hopefully next year the event will return.
