Summer in Idaho can often be the best time of the year. There is warm weather, plenty to get out and do, and many music artists make their way to the Gem State. Each summer there are concerts throughout the state, no matter where you live, and each show is unique and special. Some concerts feature local bands, others feature major artists from different types of genres, and on special weekends in the summer, there are music festivals that take place in the state. One music festival has been taking place for years in the Gem State, but in 2025 that will not be the case as the festival has officially been canceled for this year.

Gordy's HWY 30 Music Fest Canceled for 2025

It was announced early Monday morning on April 28 that this year Gordy's HWY 30 Music Fest in Filer, Idaho would be canceled. The festival has been taking place for the last 12 years and is a four-day festival that many residents in the Magic Valley look forward to each year, as well as bringing in many from the surrounding states. The festival was set to take place Wednesday, June 18 through Saturday, June 21, but that will not be the case any longer. This year's lineup included artists such as Morgan Wade, Aaron Lewis, Luke Grimes, KC Johns, Hinder, Ole 60, and many more. Refunds will be issued within the next 90 days for those who already had tickets. One of the biggest questions is, what does this mean for the festival?

For those unaware, this is the second straight HWY 30 Music Fest canceled and it has many wondering what the future holds for the event. In 2023 the music festival expanded to Texas, holding a festival at the Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth. In 2024, as the event drew near, it was forced to be canceled. Many hoped it was a one-time thing and that it wouldn't affect the festival in Idaho, but as seen above, this will be the second consecutive festival canceled in less than a year. As many in the area know, the promoter of the event, Gordy Schroeder, has been dealing with health concerns over the last year which played a factor in the decision as well as many other things that you can read in the statement in the paragraph above. As far as moving forward, it is unknown at this time if the festival will return in 2026 or if 2024 was the last.

It is sad to see this year's show canceled as many look forward to it every summer and it has become a tradition for families in the area. Some flock to the Magic Valley every summer for the four-day festival and the loss of these tourists will hurt the rest of the community as well. If more information becomes available, this story will be updated.
