As winter drags on, residents of the Magic Valley are more and more eager to get out of their homes and find something to do. It is easy to find things to do in the summer in Idaho, but during the winter months, especially if you hate the cold, it is tougher. Most people want to stay indoors and while there are a few options, one of the most fun activities to do is bowling. There are a few different lanes in the area, but many seem to be crowded with leagues, have a long wait time, or even need an upgrade. One bowling alley in the area is upgrading to offer a better product to those in the Magic Valley and the wait won't be long.

While the bowling alley itself is not new in Jerome, it will be upgraded and feel like a new place and be called Tiger Zone. With no room to expand, four lanes were removed to take the alley from 12 down to 8 to upgrade the venue. The bowling alley is looking to add an arcade with the newest and best games, party rooms, and sell food such as pizza, hamburgers, and more. It will offer a better overall experience than previously while keeping the small-town bowling alley charm as well. The bowling alley is located at 159 W Ave in Jerome, and Tiger Zone is hoping to be up and running in April if all goes according to plan. Tiger Zone wants to be apart of the community and with the movie theater having closed, this gives the residents something to do in the town of Jerome, without having to drive to Twin. The alley is currently closed to the public but remains open for league play.

While Jerome will see an upgrade in their bowling alley soon, bowling in the Magic Valley could still use an upgrade. On nights there is league play, it is impossible to get a lane, and on Friday and Saturday nights, if you don't arrive early or reserve a lane, the wait can be awhile. For Tiger Zone, having the arcade and the food will help pass the time, but the other alleys in the area need to follow suit and upgrade as well or fall behind. With news of Shenanigans opening next year, the pressure will be on to upgrade and change a few things. Tiger Zone is setting the trend for the Magic Valley with new screens, new seating, new ball racks, and the newest programming and scoring in the area.
