Costco Change Has Customers Upset in ID, WA, and UT
Not everyone enjoys change, and plenty of change has been happening over the past few years. Changes in the way jobs are done, changes in the medical field, changes in places that are open and closed, and changes in the country. When it comes to shopping, many enjoy knowing they can go to their usual stores, get their favorite items, and consistently do so. Sometimes an item that someone enjoys will go away, and over time a replacement will be found, or the shopper learns to live without it. Recently, Costco made a change that even after some time, still has customers upset and demanding things to be changed back to the way they used to be.
Change With Costco Muffins
Late last year Costco made a change that upset many customers. They took the infamous muffins that were well-sized, delicious, and offered a chance to mix and match 6 packs to form a dozen for $9.99. They made the switch to an 8-count of muffins, making them smaller, but lowering the price to $6.99. In retrospect, this is a worse deal as you could get 24 big muffins for $19.98 and now can get 24 smaller muffins for $20.97. Not only has the size changed, but being unable to mix and match is disappointing, as well as some flavors have gone away too.
Costco Muffins Upsetting Customers
It has been a couple of months since this change has taken place, and many customers are continuing to complain, begging Costco to return to the old 12-count, mix and match, and bigger muffins. One of the biggest complaints is that not only have they changed the count, size, and flavors, but also they have changed the recipe. Many customers have complained that the muffins are not as delicious as they once were, adding to more frustrations from customers. It may not seem like a big deal to all who shop at Costco, but for those who enjoy their muffins, it has been frustrating. The customers are not the only ones upset though, as employees are as well, being the ones that have to deal with complaints each day.

The hope is that Costco will listen to the complaints and their customers and make a change in the near future, by reverting back to the old recipe, prices, size, and variety. Taking away the freedom to choose by mixing and matching is taking away freedom from customers, and limiting their selection, by asking them to pay more for a smaller and less delicious muffin. Costco, listen to your customers and make a change, we beg you.
