What would you do? What would you do if your doorbell rings or there is a knock on your door, and when you get there to answer it, nobody is there? Would you be upset for wasting your time? Would you be confused and looking for a package, thinking one was dropped off? Would you be looking for someone to appear, and thinking you took too long? Would you chuckle and think kids are ding-dong ditching you? Kids are rarely outside these days, so when something like this does occur, do you get mad or enjoy seeing kids be kids?

Ding-Dong Ditch in Idaho

A video has been making the rounds on the internet of a child getting caught doing ding-dong ditch. The child is questioned before it is revealed that his dad is doing it with him and encouraging him to do so. Eventually, the dad is seen running away in the background, and the child takes off as well. Many have said this is a great dad, having fun with his son and creating memories, while others have been upset that a parent is encouraging such behavior. You can check out the video above and decide for yourself, but if this happened to you, would you be mad, laugh, or ask to join and go to another home? It is rare to see kids doing these types of things in 2025, and it is fun to see a parent being involved with their child, even if it might annoy the neighbors.

Back when many of us were kids, it was fun to ring the doorbell and run around the corner, hide in the bush, or run as far as you could. Often, you never got caught, but occasionally it would happen, and you would be scared of getting in trouble. While times have changed and many kids prefer to be on a screen or parents ban their kids from such behavior for safety, there are other reasons as well that the game has changed. Doorbell cameras and security cameras make it nearly impossible to ding-dong ditch and not end up on social media, YouTube, or get caught. It makes the game less fun knowing you can't get away with it.

It doesn't happen often, but if you find yourself with kids ding-dong ditching your home, would you get upset? So long as they are having fun and not doing it in the middle of the night, it should be harmless fun. If you get ding-dong ditched, what would you do?
