The Perfect Time To Go Chasing Southern Idaho Frozen Waterfalls

You don't have to stick to the rivers and lakes that you're used to. Frozen waterfalls are something I never thought about. I just figured as long as water was moving it wasn't really going to freeze. Apparently, I am wrong. You can check out several different frozen waterfalls around the area and they are stunning.

If you head down to Shoshone Falls, that road is super slick right now by the way, be careful if you plan on going, you can see a bunch of frozen icicles and springs as you head down. You can also check it out from the Canyon Rim Trail.

You can check out the Perrine Coulee. I wouldn't try to hike down there right now, but that is just me. I bet it is super slick and cold. But totally beautiful.

If you head into the South Hills, Ross Falls tends to freeze. That is a pretty decent hike and judging by pictures, it is stunning. You can also make the hike most of the time in just regular snow boots. No snow shoes required.

City of Rocks has some beautiful ice too. I have a feeling people really enjoy climbing during this time of year. It is a different challenge but still a beautiful adventure. You can also hike around the area and find random ice formations. There is so much to explore out there.

So go ahead and chase those frozen waterfalls.
