ICE has been a major topic across the country throughout 2026, and they continue to dominate headlines. They have been spotted all across the country, with some instances creating major controversy. Some support their mission, and there are those who are strongly against them. During the last couple of months, some lives have been lost due to the actions of ICE, and there have been some disturbing videos going around the internet. The most talked about videos have been some instances that have taken place in Minnesota. Should Twin Falls fear that ICE will create conflict like what has taken place in Minnesota in 2026?

ICE in Idaho

Don't be mistaken, ICE is in Idaho. Some have been detained in Idaho by ICE, but it has not gotten the headlines like some of those in Minnesota. In Minnesota, things have been aggressive, and lives have been lost that shouldn't have been lost. There have been protests, deaths, and some scenes that make Americans shake their head and wonder what is happening in our country. For those unaware, two American citizens have been shot during heated moments with ICE, and it has raised some questions and made some fear for their lives. No matter your thoughts on ICE, nobody should have lost their life, and mistakes were made. Should both have been detained? Perhaps, but no lives should have been lost in both instances. Should residents in Idaho fear that something similar could happen here?

There are residents in the Magic Valley who support ICE and think they are doing a great job. Some fear for their lives and hope that ICE stays far away from them. There have been protests in the area, with even high school students stating their thoughts with a school walkout, as pictured above. So long as protests don't get violent and everyone gives agents their space, there shouldn't be a conflict with ICE agents and the public. There is the right and wrong way to go about protesting and stating your opinion, and there is a right and wrong way for agents to handle those in the public who disagree with the way they are handling things. Odds are slim that things would get aggressive in the Magic Valley as they have in Minnesota, with most in the area understanding how to peacefully assemble.

It doesn't matter what side you sit on, and if you like or dislike ICE, nobody should be shot in the street. For now, many will continue to protest or support ICE, and so long as you do it legally, there shouldn't be a threat or chaos like that seen in Minnesota.
