City of Twin Falls Has New Fireworks Ordinance – How Does It Affect You?

The City of Twin Falls has adopted a new firework ordinance over concerns about safety and property damage. How does this new ordinance affect you and your 4th of July activities?

Citing safety issues and property damages from previous years, the City of Twin Falls has increased enforcement and fines as well as confiscating illegal fireworks.

Here are the fireworks Twin Falls categorizes as "illegal":

• Bottle Rockets
• Aerial Shells - Anything that launches into the air
• Roman Candles

Part of the increased enforcement is to ensure that legal fireworks are only used within the City of Twin Falls between the hours of 8 am and midnight June 23rd through July 5th and December 26th through January 1st.

The Twin Falls Police Department will have additional officers on duty this year to enforce the the city's fireworks ordinance and respond to citizen complaints.
