What Would You Do? What to Eat at Idaho Fair?
What would you do? What would you do if you could choose any food to have at the fair this year in Idaho? You can create any weird combination you want, and see if it is as good as your mind imagines. Would you like something salty? Would you prefer something sweet? Would you go with a dessert item, or something more designed to be a meal? There are many odd combinations and deep-fried foods at the fair, but if you were given the ability to create something all your own, what would you want to make?
Fair Food in Idaho
It is that time of year once again. Time to head on out to the fair in Idaho. While many have been happening over the last few weeks, the Twin Falls County Fair is set to happen August 27 through September 1. Many people will flock to the fairgrounds in Filer for different reasons. Some go for the concert, others for the rodeo, some are working the fair, and others want to enjoy it. There are rides, animals, vendors, and many things to take in, but the food is a big deal each year for many. It is where you can get certain types of food you can't get anywhere else throughout the year, and everyone knows there is no such thing as a diet when inside the fair. While it is likely you have tried some odd things through the years, if given the chance to make your own fair food, where would you begin?
Making the Perfect Idaho Fair Food
Fried Oreos, cookie dough, and Twinkies have become commonplace at fairs across the Gem State, but do you have something else you would want to try to deep fry? Would you enjoy a deep-fried oatmeal pie? What about deep-frying some Girl Scout cookies? You could try to deep fry a popsicle or ice cream. If deep-fried food isn't for you, would you go with something more Idaho-related? Making anything with a potato would be a good idea, but what would you pair with it to make it unique? You could do an ice cream sundae in a potato, deep fry one, or combine it with an elk burger and call it an Idaho Elk Burger. These are only a couple of ideas, but the possibilities are endless. You could do trout pizza with trout locally caught in Buhl. You could do a pancake on a stick covered in syrup, honey, or drown it in huckleberry ice cream.

Soon, your face will be stuffed with fair food, and your stomach will be filled with odd combinations. The fair is always fun to eat at and offers a variety of options, but if allowed to add to the choices, what would you do?
