What Would You Do? Being Spit on in the Gem State
What would you do? What would you do if someone spat in your face or on you on purpose in public in Idaho? Would instantly retaliate and spit back? Would you swing and give in to your anger? Would you be able to walk away and not say or do anything? Would you begin a shouting match? In Idaho, would guns get pulled out and things escalate quickly? It is one of the most disrespectful things a person can do to someone, and if you had someone spit in your face, what would you do?
Spitting on People in Idaho
Recently, in the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles football game, Jalen Carter of the Eagles spat on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott before the game began, leading to an ejection. Prescott was able to contain his emotions and not retaliate, but if this were to happen to you, in a non-sporting event, would you be able to keep the same composure? For many, instinct and disrespect would take over, and tempers would flare up, and some retaliation would be expected. That can mean screaming, spitting back, swinging, kicking, or worse. Under no circumstances and under no amount of anger should a weapon be pulled out. While spitting is disrespectful, it does not call for harming someone, injuring them, or taking a life. Spit can be cleaned off, emotions will fade, but the consequences for using a weapon could be life-altering and aren't the answer.
What to Do if Spat on in Idaho
The obvious solution is to walk away and let the situation end by being the bigger person. That is easy to say when reading this calmly at a desk, in the car, or wherever you are. It is a different situation when it occurs, and you feel that nasty saliva running down your cheek, and the action of someone aiming their spit at you. We can all agree that this action is immature and never should happen, but if it does and you need to release your anger, yelling is likely the best way, or to walk away and hit something like a wall, a punching bag, or something that won't break your fist. The hope is that you never have to deal with the disgusting, disrespectful act, but if so, do your best to control your temper.

My son once spat on me, and my instincts were to spank him in anger, but being my son, it was easy to take a breath, talk to him, and explain that he should never do that again. If it had been someone else, it might have been tougher to calm down quickly and not give in to those instincts. If someone spat on you in Idaho, what would you do?
