What Would You Do? Dealing With Car Sickness in the Gem State
What would you do? What would you do if you were on a road trip, traveling to Boise, or in the car for a bit and someone got sick and said they needed to throw up? Do you brush it off and say go to sleep? Do you give them a bag? Do you pull over on the side of the road? Do you leave them on the side of the road? Do you turn around and go home? We have all been in that situation where someone gets car sick, eats something that disagrees with them, or is sick and can't handle being in the car anymore. With Idaho being so open and stops being spread out by a good amount, when this happens to you, what would you do?
Car Sickness in Idaho
Driving through Idaho is a must for everyone, as it is one of the most diverse and beautiful states to take a road trip. The bad thing about traveling through Idaho though is there are big gaps on the road with nowhere to stop. This can help make a good time on a trip, but in the scenario that someone gets sick, it can cause a problem. It is always smart to have a bag or trash can on a road trip in case car sickness or illness occurs, but when you have nowhere to throw it away, the stink alone can make one contemplate pulling over or turning around. There are some curvy roads in the Gem State and that can often lead to car sickness, or with so many illnesses going around, catching one isn't hard to do. If someone in the car starts blowing chunks, what would you do?
Throwing Up in the Car in Idaho
Feeling like you are going to throw up and doing it are two entirely different things. Feeling ill can be solved with some medicine or a nap, where the art of throwing up can ruin a trip in a quick second. The smell can lead to windows down for the rest of the trip, which might irritate some in the vehicle. It can lead to pulling over on the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere, and cleaning it up to the best of your ability, or it can lead to potentially speeding to get to the nearest stop as soon as possible. The extreme option is leaving the one who puked on the side of the road and letting them know you will pick them up on the way back.
Many illnesses are floating around and it doesn't have to be a road trip to be in this situation. It can be running errands, dropping kids off, or going to work. Recently, my child said he didn't feel well, which is common, and ended up throwing up in the car, a lot. We went back home, cleaned the car, and switched vehicles instead of having to deal with the smell. This worked well due to the location of his throwing up. This was the option that worked for us, but if you found yourself in a similar situation, what would you do?
