What Would You Do? Finding a Chicken in Town in Idaho
What would you do? What would you do if you were walking down the sidewalk or driving down the street in town, and noticed a chicken or rooster roaming the area? Would you keep walking or driving and think, 'the things you see in Idaho,' or would you take action? Would you stop and try to capture it so you can take it to someone? Would you try to find out who it belongs to? Would you try to take it home and keep it as your own? This is something that happens from time to time in Idaho, as many people own chickens, but if you see one loose in town, what would you do?
Seeing a Chicken in Town in Idaho
Southern Idaho is made up of many farms, and many of them own animals such as horses, cows, and goats. Those animals typically are in fenced areas, but for those that own chickens, they often let them roam. Chickens will usually stick to their areas and not wander too far, but from time to time one will escape. They have been known to make their way to town from time to time, and when they do, how should you react if you see one? Sadly, chickens and roosters are not like dogs and cats and don't usually have collars that make it easy to return to the owner. Also, if they have sharp talons, picking one up isn't the best idea either, as it could lead to you getting hurt if you aren't used to handling them.
Lost Chicken or Rooster in Idaho
Recently, a rooster was lost in Buhl, and as you can see in the picture above was waiting for a dentist appointment, unaware that it doesn't have teeth. Multiple people posted pictures on Facebook asking who it belonged to, without any response from an owner. The rooster wasn't there for a short time, as it remained in the area for a lengthy time. Drivers, walkers, joggers, and those who saw it left it alone, as it remained out of the street and seemed content remaining in the grass area in front of the dentist's office. With nobody claiming the rooster as theirs, what should happen next?

It doesn't happen often, but there is a chance that one day you might be out for a run, a walk, or driving down the street and see a chicken or rooster roaming the town. If so, what would you do?
