What would you do? What would you do if you had some extra money and had to choose between buying a boat or an RV in Idaho? Both are pricey toys, but both are benefits to owning in the Gem State. For many it is a dream to own one of these big toys, or perhaps own both, but if you could afford to buy one, which would you choose? What would you do?

Idaho is home to some of the best areas to camp and enjoy outdoors in the country. The RV business is thriving, and it is because many residents enjoy a weekend out in the wilderness, or perhaps a week near the lake. You might be a hunter and enjoy taking a trailer to stay in for a few days while out hunting. It can be something you take only a few hours away or take to multiple states and enjoy far from home. There are benefits to owning a trailer. It can work as another bedroom when you have guests, it can make sure you are supplied with everything you need when away from home, and it can be a great way to get away from work or town and enjoy time outdoors, but also have the comforts of home. They aren't cheap however and the maintenance can be expensive. Storing them isn't always easy either, depending on the setup of your home and where you buy from. One major benefit to owning an RV is it can be used throughout the year compared to owning a boat.

While owning an RV is nice, Idaho is also home to some incredible lakes and bodies of water that it is a shame to enjoy from the shore, when you could be out on the water tubing, skiing, fishing, or relaxing for an afternoon with some beers. Boats are some of the most fun big toys to own and in Idaho, there are plenty of great places to have fun with them. One of the biggest negatives to owning a boat though is only being able to use it a few months out of the year. It is tragic to have these big fun toys, that sit in storage for months, but the times you are using them, are some of the most fun memories you will have in your life. Boats typically are a little pricier than an RV, but some will argue it is worth the cost. An RV at times is used mainly for sleeping, while a boat is where the stories and memories of summer are made.

If you had the money to buy one of these toys, but could only pick one, it could be a tough choice. For some, it will be easy. For those who prefer fishing or have a lake house, the boat is the way to go. For those who enjoy escaping to the woods, hunting, or taking home with them camping, then the RV is the way to go. For the rest, it is a tough decision, but if you had to choose between a boat or an RV in Idaho, what would you do?
