When it comes to deciding the toughest job in Idaho, there are a few things to consider. Physical toughness is the most obvious. Some jobs are demanding on the body and take strength that not everyone has. Mental toughness is also one that needs to be considered as the mind is the most powerful part of the body, and if it is weakened, doing any job is difficult. How long a workday is, also needs to be taken into account. Someone may have a physically or mentally draining job, but working four hours compared to twelve or more is not comparable. Taking these into account, which job is the toughest to have in Idaho?

Taking all these categories into account, there are a few jobs that stick out. Due to the pressure and mental aspect of the job, being a driving instructor in Idaho has to be near the top of the list. Idaho is not known to have great drivers, and teaching teens how to drive can't be easy, and puts an instructor's life on the line daily. Being a farmer also comes to mind, as they work long days, the work never seems to stop, and it takes a toll on the mind and body. Being a factory worker is tough with long shifts, and is physically demanding. Despite all of these being considered, the toughest job in Idaho has to be one that is also one of the most common, and that is being a parent. It is physically demanding to keep up with children, the shifts never end, and mentally you are worried at all times, as well as experiencing every single emotion. The only way to quit is through death, with no other job required.

Some may argue that it isn't a true job since being a parent doesn't pay the bills, but it truly is the most demanding job that any person can have. From any other job you can take vacation, retire, or quit, but being a parent doesn't have those options. When you are sick, you can stay home from work, but as a parent, you have to suck it up and still take care of your kids. The argument of the toughest job that pays in Idaho may never be resolved, but the toughest job in Idaho is being a parent.
