Was There a Popeye’s in Twin Falls 20 Years Ago?

Everybody in Twin Falls seems to be very excited about the new Popeye's opening on Monday, but is this the second or even the third time Popeye's has opened in Twin Falls?

Do you recognize the picture of the building above? It's a Payday Loans office that's on Blue Lakes right next to Pawn 1 in Twin Falls and I swear, there was a Popeye's at this location once-upon-a-time. And I'm not the only one who thinks this.

One of our listeners, Erin sent us these photos of the building in it's various states over the years and we now know for a fact, this location was a gas station in 1970.

Sometime around 1979, it became a KFC, and I still remember it being a KFC when I moved to Twin in 1987.

Then sometime around 1999, it was a Bubba's. There's even some talk that it once was a Garibaldi's for a short period of time... At least that's what some of you are saying.

What we don't know for sure is when, or even if this building was ever Popeye's Restaurant, but the color scheme sure fits the part. Some of you who called us today said you remember a Popeye's at this location and others said that you remember a Popeye's at the Oasis on Addison... and at least one of you on Facebook remembers both.
