It is a tradition around here that I have heard people love. I have been to the live nativity scene once and it is well worth it. The 2019 live nativity scene will start tonight, Monday December 16th and run through Wednesday.

The living nativity scene is at 1267 Madrona Street North and starts at 6:30 pm and ends at 8:30 p.m. There are live animals and hot chocolate. It also doubles as a canned food drive if you would like to donate. Otherwise, the walk through is free.

Throughout the experience you get a chance to walk through "Bethlehem" where there is Caesar Augustus and some mounted Roman soldiers. Again, there are live animals so that is really cool. There are real sheep as well that you can pet.

After that you can talk with the shepherds, meet Joseph and Mary and kneel at the manger where the baby Jesus is laying.

Unfortunately, if you are unable to walk through the scene, there will be no dedicated driving night like there has been in the past. Though you can see a lot of the display from the road as you drive by. Also, the lines can get kind of long so make sure that you are dressed warm and are ready for a line.

This has to be one of the coolest events that I read about every year. What a great way to share the story of Christmas in an interactive way. Perfect for families and children. Also, for those driving by, make sure you don't speed and you pay attention. There are going to be a lot of people in the area.
