Following a couple of days of possible thunderstorms and light precipitation, conditions will improve on Saturday (July 18), leading into the one day of the year when we should all make plans to grab a cold treat for ourselves and our kids.

National Ice Cream Day is this weekend, and there are some sweet deals from southern Idaho stores. July is also National Ice Cream Month.

What better way to endure temperatures exceeding 95 degrees--as is expected for Saturday and Sunday--than by grabbing a cone or cup of your favorite ice cream flavor? Expect southern Idaho ice cream shops to be busy on Sunday as the nation collectively cools off with scoops and swirls of deliciousness.
