Twin Falls ID Downtown Ice Skating Rink Open Into 2022

The Downtown Commons Ice Skating rink in Twin Falls is officially open. Southern Idaho enthusiasts can rent skates, or bring their own, and have fun into 2022.

Ice Skating is back in Twin Falls! The Downtown Commons rink opened on December 5. The announcement was made Monday on the Downtown Twin Facebook page. For those that haven't been there before, the Downtown Commons area is located at 149 Main Avenue East.

I had a chance to pay the ice rink a visit last December in the process of getting some holiday shopping done. I didn't lace up skates or anything, because my ice skills leave a lot to be desired, and I didn't want to take out any kids with my bumbling style. It is fun to sip a coffee and people watch.

The ice rink is located centrally downtown next to all the great shopping, so be sure to bring the kids and let them skate between holiday purchases. The rink opens for skating at noon. Hours vary depending on what day you visit. If you've never ice skated and would like to learn, there are a number of tutorial videos online to learn from.

January 2, 2021, was the final day visitors to the Downtown Commons skating site were able to hit the ice, and unless something changes, Twin Falls residents should be able to kick off the new year in the same fashion. The rink will again likely be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Keep checking the Downtown Twin Facebook page for updates.
