So many people find joy and thankfulness during the holiday season. The holidays are supposed to make you feel all those things. However, that isn't the case for so many people. If you struggle during the holidays, this is for you.

Holiday Blues Are A Real Thing

The holidays aren't always a happy thing. For whatever reason you don't like it, it's ok. You're allowed to feel unhappy, sad, depressed, overwhelmed, whatever you feel. You're allowed, you are justified. If you need help, please seek it, there are tons of places you can find resources.

Resources In The Area

The Crisis Center of South Central Idaho is a great clinic that has been great in the community. The clinic is open 24 hours. The suicide hotline is 9-8-8 which is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can always reach out to a friend or family member. Remember, there are people who care about you. Try to focus on that even when things are darkest.

You are not alone. There are so many people who don't find joy during the holidays. In fact, there are plenty of people who find them to be depressing and agonizing. Whether you lost a loved one recently, it is a reminder of someone no longer in your life, a reminder of a trauma in your life, whatever the reason. Reach out. You are supposed to be here. You are loved. People would miss you. People would not be better off without you. You have a purpose. You can do this. Just keep waking up, one day at a time.
