Man Stole Bobcat And Truck; Lead Police On Wild Chase Near Bliss
Someone stole a truck and trailer, then went to Snake River Pool and Spa in Twin Falls and stole a Bobcat. There was a video of the suspect as they drove away and damaged other things on the property of Snake River Pool and Spa. That is just the beginning of this crazy story.
According to the press release by Idaho State Police, the suspect allegedly was located in the stolen vehicle near Bliss with the Bobcat on the trailer. When police tried to apprehend the suspect, he led them on a chance. Keep in mind, there is a trailer with a skid-steer on it being hauled by this stolen truck. It isn't exactly a sports car that is trying to get away.
The driver of the stolen pickup rammed a Gooding County patrol car and allegedly ended up driving through a fence into the desert. After that, the truck was no longer drivable. But no, the craziness doesn't end there. The suspect then tries to flee the scene on the Bobcat that was stolen, through the desert. Obviously, that didn't end well. Police were able to get to him after the skid-steer got stuck in a ditch.
But wait! There is still more! The guy allegedly tries to get away on foot, does not comply with police, and ends up getting himself tased and hit with bean bag rounds. The man was arrested and taken to a medical center where he was treated and then taken to the Gooding County Jail.
He now faces charges of:
- Possession of stolen property (felony)
- Aggravated Battery (felony)
- Driving without privileges (misdemeanor)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia (misdemeanor)
- Eluding officers (misdemeanor)
- Resisting and obstructing officers (misdemeanor)
