If you made a New Years resolution to get more fit, or you have been involved in the fitness industry in the past. You may have an opinion or questions about CrossFit verse weight lifting.

You may also want to know why CrossFitters are so intense. Everyone I know who has started CrossFit changes there profile name to something like "bigandstrong" and constantly posts about the WOD.

I'm not saying that this bad, I just want to know why they are so intense about it. For most people going to gym is just something that we do everyday. We don't feel like we have to talk about it none stop. It makes me think I am missing something. Should I be CrossFit crazy? Am I missing out on an incredible workout?

To get my facts straight I asked a professional trainer, Inesa Zavala-Baeza from Signature Fitness. Inesa said, "CrossFit and weight lifting are very similar. The only difference is intensity. In CrossFit you do a lot of 20, 30 and 40 minute workouts. You don't stop. You move from one exercise to another, but in weight lifting you rest so you can increase your weights."  Inesa went on to say that she prefers lifting weights because she sees more changes when lifting weights than with CrossFit.

It seems like it comes down to personal preference. If you have experiences with both CrossFit and lifting weights, which one do you prefer?
