Idaho Traffic Conditions for Eclipse Event

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) Thousands of people are expected to flood into southern Idaho to view the total solar eclipse on Monday. Some parts of the country are already seeing an influx of drivers into areas where the traffic has come to a standstill. Idaho Transportation Department Officials have planned for the mass of drivers this weekend and provided resources for drivers who plan on traveling this weekend.

• As all ways, ITD's 511.Idaho.gov is a resource for drivers to find out what traffic is like on any given roadway. A mobile version is also available for phones. Drivers can access notification for specific highways and cameras in specific locations to view current conditions.
• Idaho State Police have asked drivers NOT to call their dispatch centers for road and traffic conditions. In a news release ISP officials say their dispatch centers cannot predict what travel times will be. Dispatch is for emergency response only.
• Also, ITD and law enforcement will provide travel updates to state media including News Radio 1310. Be sure to become a friend of News Radio 1310 on our Facebook page, we will provide information as it becomes available on any delays on southern Idaho roadways.
