Wrong Way Driver Causes Tragic Head-On Collision on Idaho Interstate
Two Killed in Head-On Crash on I-15 Near Fort Hall
Fort Hall, Idaho – A head-on collision on I-15 north of Fort Hall claimed two lives and left another person seriously injured late Friday night. Idaho State Police (ISP) say the crash occurred at 10:56 p.m. on December 6, 2024, near milepost 83.5.
Details of the Crash
According to investigators, a 63-year-old woman from Pocatello was driving a 2007 Honda CR-V southbound in the northbound lanes of I-15 when she collided head-on with a 2024 Nissan Sentra. The Sentra was driven by a 49-year-old man from Blackfoot, with a 45-year-old woman from Grace as his passenger.

Fatalities and Injuries
Both drivers died at the scene. The passenger in the Sentra was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. ISP confirmed that the driver of the Honda was wearing a seatbelt, while the driver of the Sentra was not. The passenger in the Sentra was also wearing a seatbelt.
Traffic and Emergency Response
The crash forced the closure of the northbound and part of the southbound lanes for approximately four hours as emergency crews responded to the scene. ISP was assisted by several agencies, including the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Blackfoot Ambulance, Blackfoot Fire Department, Bannock County Search and Rescue, Fort Hall Police Department, and Fort Hall Fire and EMS.
Investigation Ongoing
