
Failure to Yield at Intersection Causes Deadly Idaho Accident
Fatal Crash in Canyon County Claims One Life
A two-vehicle crash in Canyon County resulted in one fatality Tuesday night, February 18, at 9:53 p.m. The crash occurred at the intersection of US 20-26 and Franklin Road.
Collision Details
According to a press release from Idaho State Police, a 37-year-old man from Meridian was driving a 2017 Kia Sportage northbound on Franklin Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign. As the Kia entered the intersection, it collided a westbound 2014 Ford F-150 driven by a 21-year-old woman from Templeton, California.
One Driver Killed, Another Injured
The 37-year-old Meridian man driving the Kia was not wearing a seatbelt, and died at the scene. The driver of the Ford was wearing a seatbelt and was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.

Road Closure and Investigation
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while emergency crews responded. Idaho State Police were assisted by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office and Canyon County Fire & EMS.

A 54-year-old Filer man died in a two-vehicle crash on US93 at 100 South in Jerome County on the morning of February 18, 2025. Idaho State Police say he was driving a Subaru Legacy northbound when he turned left into the path of a southbound Ford F250, driven by a 25-year-old Bellevue man. The Subaru driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to a hospital, where he died. The Ford driver was uninjured. The crash blocked the intersection for three hours and remains under investigation.
