
One Dead in Fatal Idaho Crash Possibly Involving Alcohol
Fatal Crash on Lovell Valley Road in Benewah County
A late-night crash on Lovell Valley Road in Benewah County claimed the life of one woman and left another seriously injured.
Crash Details
The Idaho State Police report that the crash occurred on March 13, 2025, at approximately 11:04 p.m. A gray 2018 Toyota Highlander with two occupants was traveling westbound on Lovell Valley Road. The Toyota veered off the road, crashed into a ditch, rolled, and rested in a wooded area.
One Woman Killed, Another Injured
A 44-year-old woman from Omak, Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant, a 31-year-old woman from Plummer, Idaho, was able to get to a nearby home, where the resident called for emergency assistance. She was later airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
Alcohol and Seatbelt Use Under Investigation
Authorities suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The road remained closed for about three hours while emergency crews worked the scene.
Agencies Responding to the Crash
Several agencies assisted in the response, including the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police Department, Benewah County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, Plummer Ambulance, Plummer Fire, and Life Flight Network.
