The days are getting shorter, the mornings are darker, and it seems like the clocks should be changing soon. The year is well into fall now, and Halloween is quickly approaching. Typically, around this time of year, the clocks fall back and the nights get dark sooner. Most assume this typically takes place before Halloween because it seems like it gets dark early that night, but the time change actually won't be happening until after the spooky holiday. It is almost time to change the clocks in Idaho, Washington, and Utah, but when exactly is it taking place, and how much longer do you have to wait?

Contrary to belief, the time change actually takes place after Halloween most years and is not later this year, despite it feeling like it. If you think the days are getting dark early now, just wait, as the time change is less than two weeks away, and it is nearly that time. On Sunday, November 2, the clock will fall back an hour , and Daylight Saving Time will be over. The good news is that this year, the change falls on Halloween weekend, and with Halloween being on a Friday, it gives everyone an extra hour that weekend to catch up on sleep and recover from the festivities or the candy comas that their bodies are in.

The topic gets brought up a couple of times each year, but how long until Daylight Saving Time is abolished countrywide? It is well known that Hawaii and Arizona are the only two states that don't have to deal with the change, and it is proven that changing clocks can lead to depression, throw off sleep patterns, and overall is bad for health. In today's society, we are all so self-conscious about mental health that it seems like changing clocks should go away, but for now and the foreseeable future, the clocks will remain changing twice a year. The good news is that this time around, they fall back, giving you extra sleep, but sadly, it means you may wake up earlier than expected on Sunday.

Make sure to enjoy the extra daylight while it lasts, cause time is ticking and soon it will be getting dark when many are driving home and before dinner is on the table. The time change is almost here, so make sure to check your calendars and don't forget to change any clocks that don't change automatically on November 2.
