It is the time of the year when there aren't many days to look forward to. Easter is still over a month away, and no three-day weekends are on the calendar for a couple more months. One day that people do enjoy this time of year though is St. Patrick's Day, and the Magic Valley knows how to celebrate. Each year there are fun events in Twin Falls to celebrate the day of the Irish, but this year will be a little different as there will be no festival on March 17, but there will still be one taking place. Here is how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year in the Magic Valley.

St. Patrick's Day Events in Twin Falls

As most know, St. Patrick's Day falls on March 17 every single year, which happens to be on a Monday this year. That is unfortunate as many have school and work, and throwing a party on a Monday is not ideal. Twin Falls agreed and has decided to throw its annual St. Patty's Day Festival and Parade on Saturday, March 15. The event will be happening in downtown Twin Falls, with the parade beginning at noon. Make sure to avoid downtown during the morning and this time if you are not planning on enjoying the festivities. After the parade, the festival will continue through the day and into the night, lasting until 10 PM. There will be vendors, food trucks, live music, bull riding, face painting, green beer and more. While the festival will be taking place on Saturday this year, that doesn't mean there aren't ways to celebrate on March 17. On Monday you can go to Redhawk Gastropub from 10 AM to 3 PM and enjoy the classic Irish meal of corned beef hash and green beer. You can go to Applebee's and enjoy their signature St. Patrick's Day cocktails. If you are someone who doesn't enjoy alcoholic drinks, you can always go to McDonald's and get a Shamrock Shake one last time before they disappear for the year.

Don't forget that the celebration will be happening a couple of days early this year. Despite the weather, the party will be going on and should be a fun time for the whole family. Get out, drink some beer, have some fun, and celebrate St. Patrick's Day this weekend in the Magic Valley.
