6 Events You Must Attend This 4th of July Weekend in the Magic Valley

It feels like kids just got out of school, but hard as it is to believe, June is gone and July has arrived. The best part of July is the beginning, with fireworks going off, parades happening, and everyone celebrates the greatest country on Earth. There will be plenty of grills cooking hot dogs, hamburgers, and other meats this weekend, as well as many on the river, the lake, or in a pool. Between the playing in water and eating, there will be many events this Fourth of July Weekend in the Magic Valley that you won't want to miss.

Thursday, July 3, Through Saturday, July 5 - Sagebrush Days

Sagebrush Days is a tradition for many families during the Fourth of July, and this year is no exception. It all starts on Thursday at 4 PM with a fish fry dinner at the Buhl Senior Center. On the morning of the Fourth, head back to the Buhl Senior Center for a Pancake Breakfast. The parade that draws in a massive crowd each year will begin at 10 AM, with events taking place in the city park all day following the parade. The day will end with fireworks, but that isn't the end of it. Thursday, July 3 - Chess in the Park

Are you someone who enjoys playing chess? Do you struggle to find someone to play with or looking for new competition? Perhaps you want someone to help teach you how to play. Well, you are in luck. Chess in the Park is taking place this Thursday in Twin Falls City Park from 6:30 PM to 8:45 PM. This is for beginners, competitors, or casual players. It is a free event, and you can come and go as you please. There will be live music from 7:30 to 8:45 by the Twin Falls Municipal Band. For more on the event, click on the link above. 

Friday, July 4 - Fireworks

It isn't the Fourth of July without fireworks. While some prefer to fire off their own and put on their show or stay at home and avoid the traffic, most want to get out and enjoy a traditional Independence Day fireworks show. There are plenty to choose from in the area, with the CSI one being among the biggest and best. Saturday, July 5 - Market on Main

During the summer, farmers' markets are taking place all weekend across the Magic Valley. There are many options to choose from, but one that many people prefer is Market on Main. Offering the chance to stroll Main Street without any traffic is nice while looking at handmade crafts, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as having live music and the stores on Main to shop at as well. Market on Main takes place on Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM and is a great way to spend the morning after the holiday festivities the day before. Saturday, July 5 - Movie Matinee

During the summer, many enjoy going to the movies to see the biggest and newest blockbuster, but doing so can take a hit on your wallet quickly. Instead of spending money at the cinema, how about seeing a free movie instead? Movie Matinee will be happening this Saturday at 3 PM at the Twin Falls Public Library, and it is a free event. Saturday, July 5 - Dueling Pianos

With it being a holiday weekend, many are going to want to get out and have a drink and have some fun, especially on a Saturday night. If looking for fun and good entertainment this weekend, look no further than Koto Brewing Company, where they will have Dueling Pianos this Saturday beginning at 7 PM. There is a $10 cover charge, and if you have never witnessed Dueling Pianos, you are in for a treat as two pianists battle it out and wow the crowd.
