The holiday season is fast approaching, and it is the time of year when many get excited. The next few months are filled with family, friends, time off from work, traveling, candy, food, football, gifts, and much more. There are exciting days ahead to end the year, and typically, when October begins, it is the beginning of the best seasons and events of the entire calendar. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's are all approaching, and it is justified to be excited for them all. The problem in today's world is that everything is fast-paced and rushed, and society seems to be rushing through the holidays. Idaho is being impatient and is already moving on from a holiday that hasn't happened yet, which may result in missing out on a lot of the fun and traditions if it doesn't slow down.

Is Idaho Skipping Over Halloween?

Halloween is a holiday that many enjoy. There are fun, spooky attractions, great Halloween movies, trick-or-treating, costumes, and the fun of scaring people and making them wet themselves. It used to be that Halloween was one day a year, but with so many events happening, it has turned into a month-long holiday. While many enjoy this, it has also watered it down. Some get so excited and so impatient that they can't wait until October 31 to celebrate and are forcing it to be sooner than it is. The problem with this is that by the time Halloween rolls around, it feels like it has already happened, and nobody is celebrating. Don't believe that Halloween is being rushed? Have you been to a store lately?

Stores in Idaho Are Rushing Halloween

Go to a store and look around. Do you see more Halloween decorations or Christmas? Places like Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, and Walmart are rolling out more Christmas decorations than Halloween, despite the holiday still being a couple of weeks away. Already, big decorations are on sale for half off, many are gone, and even holiday cookies can be tough to find. While Christmas is a bigger retail holiday and their focus on it makes sense, they are also forcing the public to skip over Halloween and rush through it to begin focusing on other holidays. With costumes already being moved around, decorations being sold out, and Christmas taking over a bigger portion of the store, it is sad to see Halloween being disrespected.

As the days until Halloween continue to tick by, take the time to enjoy the holidays, scream and be scared, watch scary movies, and make sure to go out and go trick-or-treating and enjoy it, because it only comes once a year. It may not be what it was when many of us were kids, but it is still a day that holds a lot of memories for most and is worth celebrating, and not being rushed by stores or by the residents of Idaho.
