While most can't tell you the reason we celebrate Memorial Day, many anticipate the holiday because it is the first three-day weekend that most employees have had in months. It typically marks the unofficial beginning of summer and typically happens around the end of school, making kids happy as well. It takes place every year near the end of May, but which weekend is it happening this year and what is the date of Memorial Day for 2025? This year Memorial Day will be on Monday, May 26, making May 24, May 25, and May 26 the weekend that most will have circled for some fun, food, and family.

There are usually many events that happen on Memorial Day weekend no matter where you live and this year will be the same for many. While there are fun events to attend, it can also be nice to take it easy and chill by the pool, on a boat, in a kayak, fishing, or enjoying downtime as a family without any school or work. Not only do people want to be outdoors enjoying their three-day weekend but food is a big part of the holiday as well, as there will be plenty of grilling hotdogs, hamburgers, and enjoying some good summer food. Make sure to stock up early, as grocery stores are likely to run low on some of the more popular Memorial Day food items in the days closer to the weekend.
