The Idaho State Police (ISP) are currently investigating a tragic single-vehicle fatality crash that took place on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at approximately 6:30 a.m. The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of I15 at milepost 110.5, near Shelley, Idaho.

According to an ISP press release, the vehicle involved was a 2013 Honda CR-V, driven by a 59-year-old male resident of Idaho Falls. Initial reports suggest that the vehicle veered into the median and subsequently overcorrected its course. This led to the vehicle traversing across the northbound lanes of travel before ultimately rolling over and coming to a stop on the right shoulder.

Tragically, a 57-year-old female passenger, also from Idaho Falls, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Seatbelt Usage and Injury Status

The driver of the vehicle was reported to have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, while the passenger was not restrained.
