Boise Police Seek Information After Pedestrian Found Deceased on Overland Road

Boise Police are investigating a tragic incident involving a pedestrian found deceased in the roadway near W. Overland Rd. and S. Atlantic St. on the evening of November 1, 2024. Just before 9:40 pm, officers responded to a report from a driver who believed they had run over what appeared to be an already deceased person.

Details of the Incident

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim with severe, fatal injuries. Initial investigations revealed that several drivers had noticed what they thought was an object in the roadway and managed to swerve out of the way. However, evidence indicates that the victim had been run over multiple times by vehicles that were unable to avoid him.

To secure the scene, Overland Rd. was shut down between Latah St. and Owyhee St. for several hours while Boise Police’s Criminal Investigation Division and Crash Reconstruction Team conducted their investigation. Multiple drivers and witnesses were interviewed on the scene.

Support Services and Ongoing Investigation

Boise Police Department’s Victim Witness Coordinators and partners from the Trauma Intervention Program of Treasure Valley (TIP) were called to provide assistance during the investigation. The identity of the victim is currently unknown. The Ada County Coroner’s Office will release the victim's identity once confirmed and next of kin are notified.

This is an active investigation, and detectives are urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to contact Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790.
