Russian Vodka Is No Longer For Sale In Idaho State Liquor Stores
Idaho State liquor stores have pulled Russian vodka off their shelves in support of Ukraine. Idaho follows suit with several other states and cities that have decided they will no longer sell or purchase Russian-made vodkas.
The Idaho State Liquor Division pulled the only two Russian-owned and Russian-made vodkas on the shelves, Russian Standard Vodka and Beluga Vodka. There has been a collective effort to stop the purchase and sales of Russian vodka to support Ukraine after the Russian military infiltrated Ukraine.
Even places like Las Vegas are refusing to purchase or sell any type of Russian vodka. Even liquor stores in Canada are refusing to sell Russian vodka. Places in Las Vegas are even going a step further and purchasing alcohol made in Ukraine.
If you are someone that is trying to support Ukraine but aren't sure how little things like this can go a long way. According to some reports, less than one percent of vodka consumed in the United States is produced in Russia. Businesses like Stoli and Smirnoff are being confused with Russian-based businesses.
Even though the boycott and removal of these vodkas are mostly symbolic, it is still an action that an average person can take to support Ukraine. If you are a vodka drinker, maybe consider purchasing a Ukrainian vodka like Khor. I am hoping to find more of that on the shelves. Some of the states that have joined the boycott are Utah, Ohio, Virginia, Oregon, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Others are expected to follow.
