What is the Latest on Runamuck in Twin Falls? Is It Still Happening?
Last year, rumors began to circulate about the possibility of a massive family fun center coming to the Magic Valley. In the last year, the rumors were confirmed, and the process of making the family fun center a reality has taken many twists and turns. The name was revealed, only to have it changed months later. A site was confirmed, and a date to break ground was confirmed as well. Many in the Magic Valley waited anxiously for the breaking of ground and construction to begin on this highly anticipated addition to Twin Falls. The days, weeks, and months went by, and no sign of Runamuck had popped up. Is the family fun center still coming to Twin Falls and where do things currently stand on Runamuck?
What is the Latest on Runamuck in Twin Falls?
Last year, it was announced that Runamuck had a location and everything was set in place. The bank needed to approve the loan, dot some 'I's,' cross some 'T's,' and everything would be good to go and the ground would break in August. The location was off of Pole Line, behind the new car dealership across from the hospital in Twin Falls. It is currently March, and the ground is yet to be broken. After speaking with the man behind this project, he let me know that some complications arose, and the location was no longer an option. Does that mean the dream of Runamuck is now dead? The answer is no. Runamuck is still happening and is still coming to Twin Falls, but the plan has changed.
When and Where Will Runamuck Open?
There are currently a few options available for the family fun center. The old Shopko building is currently an option and is a prime location for a family fun center. It is attached to the mall, supplies plenty of parking, is near eating options for those coming and going, and would allow to expand outdoors in the future. This is one option, but not the only one on the table. Another is to build, with a location to still be determined. The building would allow more freedom to design the building in a manner that the family fun center prefers, but the location likely isn't as ideal as the old Shopko building.
Things are progressing, even if the public doesn't see them happening physically. According to the owner, if everything goes the way it should, the hope is that Runamuck will be up and running in 2025. The goal is for a summer opening, with the hope of an earlier opening, if things progress perfectly. While the wait continues, the good news is that the dream of a family fun center in Twin Falls is still alive. We will all wait anxiously, and make sure to continue to check back for updates, as we get them throughout the year.
