It's not often enough that Idaho is mentioned or represented on television, so when it happens, it makes for a must-view in the Gem State. True Idahoans are proud of their roots and the people that are born and raised here, and seeing one on TV makes for an exciting time, especially when they are competing against others on a national show. One Idaho woman will represent the Gem State tonight when she lives a lifelong dream and competes on one of the most popular game shows in television history.

A woman in Pocatello will be appearing on Jeopardy tonight. The show will air at 6 PM on NBC, so make sure to set your DVR or tune in to cheer her on. The contestant's name is Kendra Westerhaus and she will be fulfilling a lifelong dream tonight. Kendra is a clinical psychologist and had to jump through many hoops to become a contestant on the show. It isn't often that Idaho is represented on television, especially in a game show of this magnitude, so hopefully, she did well, as we will find out tonight.

For those hoping to follow in Kendra's footsteps one day, getting on Jeopardy isn't easy. It is a multi-step process, mixed in with a little bit of luck. First, you must take a test online, which you can find here. After that, you must take a similar test on video chat, to prove you didn't cheat in any form. The third step is when you finally get to meet someone face to face and do an interview and a mock game to see how you do. After the third step, is when luck comes into play, as your name is added to a pool of other names, and the waiting game begins. Not every name in that pool will make the show, but if you are lucky enough to have your name drawn, then your dream will finally be realized.

While making the show is a major success and a dream most will never realize, winning the game is the real goal, and that is where the true test lies. We will all be tuning in and cheering on Kendra tonight as she makes her Jeopardy debut, and hopefully not only does well but can also win one for Idaho. Tune in tonight at 6 PM on NBC and see how she did.
