Shopping can sometimes be a pain in the butt. It usually is overcrowded, it cuts into time you rather be doing something else, and you have to deal with people, which nobody seems to want in 2023. You can put it off as much as you want, but eventually, you will need groceries, items for around the house, and other needs and wants to get through life. While you can order online and do pick-up these days, odds are at some point in time you will have to face going into the store, which can be dreadful. There is a way to improve the shopping experience, and all stores should add this to make shopping better in the Magic Valley.

Adding Horn to Shopping Carts in the Magic Valley

Last week a story was written about cart rage in Twin Falls, and many would agree that they have experienced this in some form. One way to help with the cart rage would be to add horns to carts. The next time you have somebody in your way at the grocery store, instead of yelling or standing there steaming while you wait, give the horn a little 'toot toot' and let them know you are there. It will help grab their attention, save shoppers from getting angry, and allows them to grab their item and move on their way. A little honk could go a long way in helping with cart rage and angry shoppers, which is why the addition would be much appreciated. It should be that simple, but likely there would be a flaw or two.

Why Cart Horns Could Backfire

Why the theory of cart horns is great, there could be some backlash. Some people have quick tempers, and being honked at could trigger them to want to start an argument or a fight. The hope is that the horn would more or less notify them someone is trying to get by, but not everyone would see it that way. If enough shoppers are offended or angry, there could be more fights. The other backlash would be the noise of the store. If multiple people are honking constantly or kids want to play with the horn, stores could get pretty loud and obnoxious quickly. There would need to be some monitoring done in the beginning or it could get out of hand quickly.

While the fears of the horns leading to more anger or annoyance are real, the hope is that they would only be used to avoid conflict and to allow shoppers to get by without being confrontational. Will stores add a horn to their carts? It is unlikely, but if they did it could help lessen some of the cart rage that is taking place across the Magic Valley.
