Last year my step-son, in his infinite wisdom, was playing a game on his iPod touch while using the restroom and he too deposited his expensive device into the drink.

Is this a common thing? Actually, yes it is.

Google found 39% of us actually take our phones into the bathroom and according to the research site Plaxo, 19% of us have actually dropped our mobile phones into the toilet.

So if 39% of people take their phones into the bathroom and 19% of people drop them into the blue yonder, then almost half the people who take their phones into the toilet end up dropping them into the toilet.

That number is staggering.
