Don’t Panic in California and Idaho As Social Media Sites Are Down

UPDATE: The problem seems to be resolved, and both platforms appear to be working on both apps and websites now. If they go down again throughout the day, we will update.

UPDATE: Facebook does appear to be back up on apps only. If you are trying to access it on a computer, you are likely still having issues.

Before you decide to do anything serious, take a breath and calm down. No, you did not get hacked and you are not alone, we are all experiencing this tragic event today. Facebook and Instagram are currently down, and it has many panicking, as they can't access their social media platforms. Panic has taken over as many are left unaware of what to do or how to function, but it is ok because we are all in this together currently. What do we do? How do we communicate? How do we scroll through our phones with some of our favorite apps and sites down?

Facebook and Instagram Currently Down

Despite hitting refresh and attempting to type your password in over and over again, the odds are you are unable to get into Facebook or Instagram at the moment. At around 8:15 AM MST/7:15 AM PST Facebook and Instagram experienced an outage, kicking out hundreds of thousands of users. Meta's social media platforms are currently down and many are seeing the message 'Failure to load.' There is no expected timeline on when the issues will be fixed. It could be working by the time you read this story, or it could still be down as you struggle to figure out how to get through your day. 

Social Media Platforms Crash

Websites and apps have both been affected by the outage. Despite best efforts and multiple attempts, nothing will bring back the social media platforms until the issue is resolved. It is best to find something to help distract you today, like going to the KEZJ app, and seeing what is happening and that you are missing out on. Depending on where you live, it might be a nice day to put your phone down or step away from the computer and get outside or do some pre-spring cleaning.
