This is one of those questions that come up when two people are talking that have too much time on their hands. If you're trying to sell your house and you know it's haunted, do you have to tell? I went on a quest to find out.

First, let me be clear. This is not legal advice. Real estate law is a serious subject and you'll want the counsel of a lawyer and/or realtor if you actually are trying to sell a haunted house. This is just my curious mind asking questions and looking stuff up.

In general, if you know something is wrong with your house, you have to disclose it. It's not only a good legal idea, but it's the right thing to do. But, if you believe your house is haunted, that's not actually something that is required to be disclosed from what I've found.

Idaho also tackled the haunted disclosure subject. They noted that there is nothing on a disclosure form in Idaho that asks you to tell if there have been any deaths in a home.

The Idaho Realtors website has a document that seems to confirm that you don't have to fess up if you think your house is haunted when you sell it.

The bottom line is ask a professional if you really need to know, but it appears your house can be The Amityville Horror house itself with nobody else required to know.
