COLD CASE: Idaho Teen Possibly Murdered By Serial Killer, Trucker
A teenage girl was found murdered near the Idaho-Wyoming border in 1997. The case has never been solved, and some investigators believe the crime may have been committed by a traveling killer linked to at least seven other murders in the Western United States.
Police in four different states have been waiting for a break in a homicide case that took place in the summer nearly 30 years ago. On August 15, 1997, the body of Tonya Teske was discovered near Ucon, Idaho, 170 miles northeast of Twin Falls.
Despite interviewing multiple suspects, authorities have never made an arrest leading to a conviction in the murder case of the young Wyoming native. Her body was found on a Highway 20 onramp, 260 miles west of her hometown of Shoshoni.

Police Believe A 1997 Murder Of A Teen In Idaho Could Be Linked To Numerous Other Killings
Teske was 18 years old when her life was taken from her. She was known to hitchhike routinely in Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, and Montana. Due to the location of her body, it would make sense that she may have been pushed out of a moving automobile.

A possible profile of the murderer of Teske would have been someone who worked in a trade that allowed them to travel extensively throughout the northwest. Detectives working the case believed years back that the murder might be linked to a serial killer who may have left as many as seven victims in his/her wake, according to Deseret News.
Tonya Teske was last heard from on August 13, 1997, according to her profile on the Meta page Unsolved and Unknowns. If you have information that can help detectives make an arrest in the case of Tonya Teske, call 1-844-TIP-4040.
