Idaho Man Survives 2 Snakebites, 54 Antivenom Rounds Needed
An Idaho man is incredibly lucky to be alive after sustaining rattlesnake bites while on a trip to the West Coast to visit family. The incident happened over two weeks ago when the father of three was helping his parents in their Central California garden.
Two snakebites on the leg of an Idaho man in late-June required a nearly two weeks hospital stay and more than 50 rounds of antivenom from two separate medical facilities, according to details shared by USA Today. The victim came close to becoming the fourth fatality to rattlesnake bites in California in 2026, according to USA Today.
The man was bitten in the city of Oroville, California, 70 miles north of Sacramento. He spent more than 12 days being treated for the injuries. Excessive heat is to blame for the spike in rattlesnake bites, according to USA Today.

A GoFundMe account has been established for the victim and has raised nearly $9,000 to date (July 13) since being created on Friday.
'Chris and his family want to thank each and everyone of you who has donated so far,' were the words shared on the website by its creator.

The man spent 12 days in the intensive care unit, was transported by helicopter from the bite site, and received several blood transfusions, which has resulted in costly medical bills, according to the fundraising website.
