Unstable Storm Conditions Predicted For Magic Valley This Week

Tuesday is bringing some relief to the Magic Valley in the form of cloud cover and cooler temperatures. Highs in the mid-eighties will spread throughout southern Idaho before it gets warmer later in the week and a pressure system brings a better than 50 percent chance of thunderstorms heading into the weekend.

Magic Valley weather has been a bit volatile as of late. A combination of thunderstorm activity, intense heat, and light rainfall made for an interesting week of July 6. Consecutive days of swim lessons at the Twin Falls City Pool last week included breezy conditions and passing storm cells that could have easily caused such activities to be cancelled throughout the county.

Temperatures on Saturday (July 10) reached near 100 degrees as storm activity blew through Twin Falls leaving nothing but sunshine in its wake. On Friday, current weather predictions are suggesting a high probability of more thunderstorm activity, and on a more intense scale.

Southern Idaho Weather Could Get Wild Friday As Some Have Predicted Heavy Thunderstorm Activity

As I researched the current weather forecast for Twin Falls on Tuesday, small images of rain drops and lightning bolts accompanied information given for Thursday and Friday, July 16th and 17th. This isn't to say that the forecast won't improve over the next 24 hours, but as it looks right now, late Thursday into Friday is looking to be stormy for much of southern Idaho, with a combination of wind, lightning, and 55 percent precipitation, according to multiple weather sources including timeanddate.com.

You may want to reinforce fencing and secure those trampolines as we head into Friday. Temperatures are still expected to be hot (above 90) for both days.
