Avoid Your Car Getting Broken into This Summer in the Gem State
During the summer many residents in the Gem State like to go out and hit the lake or the river, using their kayaks, paddle boards, or boats. When out on the water most are excited and having fun without a concern in the world, not thinking about their vehicle being left unattended for hours. The issue is that thieves know that these vehicles will be left for hours making them prime for being broken into. While it may seem like vehicles are chosen at random when broken into, that is not the case and there is a reason your car has been chosen in Idaho.

Do not leave your keys in the car, especially in a place that is visible. Do not leave your wallets, purse, or electronics in sight. Make sure to be smart and hide any valuables or remove them from the car anytime you are leaving your vehicle for long periods of time, including at work and home. Don't make it easy for burglars to select your vehicle by giving them easy access or something they can visibly see they want. As long as you take the right precautions you should be ok, but be alert and aware this time of year.
