Do You Agree with America or the Gem State on the Best Cereal?
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, at least that is what you are told growing up. The most important meal is the next one. Despite this, you should still eat breakfast to get the energy you need to make it throughout your day, and so you don't get grumpy at the beginning of work. There are many great things you can have for breakfast, but when in a rush or looking for something simple, cereal is a great way to go. There is a variety of cereals to choose from, but which one does America think is the best, and which one is Idaho's favorite?
Ranking the best Cereals in America
Walk into a grocery store and go down the cereal aisle, and you will be amazed at how many different kinds there are to choose from. Typically, in a household, there are multiple favorites, meaning you are likely buying a few different kinds, and might even be changing it up time to time to try different ones. So when it comes to the best cereals, which ones do Americans like the best? Tasteofhome.com recently ranked the top 15 cereals, and here are the top five in order.
- 5) Trix
- 4) Cap'n Crunch
- 3) Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- 2) Cracklin' Oak Bran
- 1) Cheerios
There are some common and popular cereals missing from this top five, and some that may leave you scratching your head. You can see the full list of the top 15 by clicking the link above. So do you agree with this list, or do you prefer Idaho's favorite, or something else?
What is Idaho's Favorite Cereal?
So what is Idaho's favorite cereal? It is on the top 15 list above, but it didn't crack the top five or the top ten. It came in as the thirteenth best cereal according to the rankings, and that cereal is Cookie Crisp according to Zippia.com. According to this study back in 2022, Cinnamon Toast Crunch was the favorite cereal in America, and 13 states agreed. Astoundingly, this study revealed that around 2.7 billion boxes of cereal are consumed in America each year, with that number likely having increased over the last four years. Another interesting note from this study is that, despite being one of the more popular cereals with kids and adults, Lucky Charms was not any state's favorite, and it wasn't ranked in the top five in the ranking above either.

Do you agree with Idaho and prefer Cookie Crisp over any other cereal, or do you agree with the rankings and prefer Cheerios? Perhaps your favorite isn't on either list, which means it likely will always be in stock when you go to the grocery store. The next time you go to buy a box to bring home, which one are you grabbing?
