Will This Halloween Villain Return To South Idaho Streets Soon?
Halloween is less than 40 days away. Decorations are slowly going up throughout the Magic Valley, and if 2025 is any indication, we might see the return of one of the most ghastly horror villains ever written about to the streets of southern Idaho.
As far as Halloween spirit goes, Idaho might not rival some East Coast states, but if you look hard enough, you'll find it. A Newsweek survey from nearly one year ago placed the Gem State in the bottom 15 percent nationally for Halloween spirit. Florida, New York, Texas, Nevada, and California were among the top states for Halloween spirit, according to the survey.
Halloween spending in the United States this year is expected to surpass $13 billion, according to Hardware Retailing.

On October 30, 2025, on 'Devil's Night,' the Headless Horseman was spotted on Main Street in Rigby, 175 miles northeast of Twin Falls. Although his steed looked less than enthusiastic, word of his presence spread quickly throughout the community.
Now, children, this, of course, was not the real Headless Horseman. I'm sharing this because Halloween is just five weeks away, and some surveys say we could use some spirit.
Just to play it safe, don't cross any bridges at night in southern Idaho. If you do, and you hear the sound of hooves behind you, you had better run.
