South Idaho ‘Voice’ Contestant Prepares For Battle Rounds
Season 30 of 'The Voice' reality singing contest recently got underway with a couple of unfamiliar judges for a three-night, blind audition taping. One of those who performed for the judges is a Rigby, Idaho, native who impressed the panel with his rendition of Harry Nilsson's 1969 classic "Everybody's Talkin'."
Newcomers Riley Green and Queen Latifah have joined Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine for the newest search for the next series champion. Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani, Michael Buble, Christina Aguilera, Reba McEntire, and John Legend have all appeared as judges in the popular series that launched in 2011.
One of the talented young vocalists on the new season is Owen Uffens, a freshman at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg. Uffens, 18, was selected for Adam Levine's team, according to NBC. Rigby is 175 miles northeast of Twin Falls near the Wyoming border.
Rigby Native Owen Uffens Is Preparing For The Next Round Of The Reality Singing Competition 'The Voice'

I've watched all the episodes of the newest season and find it to be one of the more entertaining in recent years. Kelly Clarkson's infectious personality, along with the constant--but playful--feuding between Levine and Green, makes this season really fun to watch. The reason we watch isn't for the celebrity judges, but instead to follow the musical journeys of the young performers.

We wish Owen the best of luck this season. We hope he brings it home for Idaho.
